Exp. since 2014. Sep 24, 2020. #1. For sometime now the van doesn't seem to be charging the batteries properly from the engine. The engine is a 2012 3Lt. A new alternator has been fitted and I've checked the earth strap, but still the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I should be checking.
I have a 4 year old ducato based motorhome. Occasionally the engine when hot won't start, all the lights come on, there is no dip in the lights, the engine won't turn over at all, nothing. Also no clicking and no sound. After 1-2 hours, when the engine cools down (not ideal at a pertrol station)

My boxer has an intermittent fault which doesn't show a fault code , the van becomes very hesitant until it hits 3k revs , then the engine gets a surge of power and a roar . There's a definite different feel to its response when its like this . This fault can stay for around 2 to 30 miles , can clear back to normal on its own or when the

Earth strap between gearbox and chassis failing, replace strap or add an additional strap. Report. Like. We had a very similar problem with our diesel to the one you describe. Lack of engine revs, virtually no power and extremely slow acceleration. It was an intermittent fault and, of course, never replicated itself when taken to the Dealers who couldn't identify the fault and it was only the experience of an Independent Garage man Nov 3, 2021. #5. Hi rceddie. This (to the best of my knowledge) is how an immobiliser of this era is supposed to work. The immobiliser section in the vehicle sends an AC signal at about 125 kHz (a low radio frequency) to the "reader" antenna coil mounted around the key opening in the lock barrel. Jun 29, 2021. #1. Hi All. One for you to think about. I have a 2005 Fiat Ducato 2.8JTD motorhome which started doing strange things electrically. It started with when driving along and switching the lights on, the engine loses power but if you push the throttle to the floor, it picks up again and runs fine. Three weeks ago while driving early 7Khw.
