Steering was still really heavy at idle/ vehicle stationary. I fitted a pressure gauge to check the pump output & I was only getting 10 bar at idle and 30 bar at 3000 rpm (It should develop 110 bar at idle and above). I fitted a replacement second hand pump & problem was gone - 110bar from engine idle upwards.
Once you have a top up container you can refill it from a much cheaper bulk buy container and use over and over again. Now has a pronounced hiss on acceleration that sounds like it’s from the air vents, smell of exhaust gas in cabin, some exhaust visible seeping from back of engine on start-up. With this is an occasional restricted performance condition. Nothing picked up by GAPIID, but oddly the Foxwell NT680 shows P1247-00 low boost pressure.

1994 Discovery Immobilizer and Alarm Issues. This problem started today and I am stumped. I pulled into a gas station and filled up my Disco and then when to start it and had nothing but clicking from the passager side dash. It acted like a dead battery but jumping didn't help at all. 4.6l V8. I've been chasing down the P1412 issue for a month. Here is what I've done so far: Replaced the SAI Pump with a new unit. It howls as it should upon start up for 70-80 seconds. Replaced, twice, the Solenoid on the Drivers side. Checked, re-checked, and then checked again all the vacuum hoses, big ones and small ones. They are all secure.
However, when you use the tailgate opener on the key fob, the door opens. Solution: replace the switch. Cable - if this is the issue, when you press the switch or operate the key fob, there is 'clicking and whiring' but the door won't open, the cable is broken. This was a common problem with pre-Disco 4 cars because the cable was weaker. yBZr.
