A functioning horn is one of a vehicle’s most critical safety features. If your Ford Mondeo’s horn isn’t working, there are a few potential causes. It could be a poor connection as you suggest the cooling fan does not always work. If the fan does not work the air con won't. A cheap check/investigation is to check out a very popular fault on the Mondeo which is corrosion/break of the "purple" wire that runs from fan along chassis leg to EMC unit. Got them to agree to just change out the one for now (I know not recommended) but funds not available at the moment.

Mine is an '07 1.8tdci tit x and luckily when the malfunction note appears with a ping, the lights settle back fairly centrally, so no issues driving. I do look into the issue occasionally, but nothing definite yet. The only mildly annoying thing is the yellow dot at the front of the car icon on the dash (convers+). Good luck.

Hi need help please. My number plate lights on my 2011 mk4.5 mondeo have stopped. I cant see anywhere in the fuse chart that mentions the lights and I have checked all 3 fuse boxes and all are ok. Ive tested for power with a multimeter and its dead in both lamps. Any advice please. Thanks Peter
I don't believe the Ford dealer simply "charged the battery" as that implies the Smart charge system has failed. Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve the low battery message on a 2010 reg mondeo.
